I have not heard such kind of dark metal for ages! In the late 90s this style was quite popular with bands like Darkseed, Sundown, Aion, Diabolique, Beseech or Paradise Lost in their soft phase. Sure, on one side "The Everlasting" sounds old-fashioned, but on the other the songs are a welcome variation in my current playlist. And old-fashioned or not, songs like "Waiting for the Sign" or "Bred to be broken" are simply catchy, cool and they rock!
